Today is International Women’s Day.
While people around the world take time today to celebrate the social, cultural, political and economic achievements of women, Showpad has a proud history of programming and initiatives focused on building up every woman across the company.
Through our differences we find strength and with Showpad’s goal of achieving maximum impact, it’s a no-brainer that recruiting and building a diverse team plays a significant role. Above all else, we strive for authenticity in the workplace and believe in being genuine, good-natured ass-kickers.
Our global team is made up of 28 nationalities in eight offices across the U.S. and EMEA. We’re proud of our commitment to create an environment where we care about the success of our team regardless of ethnicity, age, sexual orientation or gender.
This basis was exactly why Women of Showpad was founded. The group was created to empower each and every woman across the company.
What is Women of Showpad?
Women of Showpad is a voluntary, employee-led resource group with an active presence in all Showpad offices. The mission of the group is to create a work environment that enables everyone to achieve their professional and personal goals.
Although the group has a unified global mission, each Showpad office provides unique programming to meet the needs and interests of its members. Programming includes live events, networking opportunities, a mentorship program and more, all developed to support, inspire and empower members both at work and at home.
Women of Showpad strives to build a tight-knit global community across our seven global offices. The group calls on women at Showpad to serve as role models and mentors for each other and encourages people in different markets to get to know each other.
Some of the groups objectives include:
- Connecting on common issues with role models and mentors
- Inspire everyone to share success stories and encourage each other in times of doubt
- Empower others by promoting well being, financial independence and learning
How are we structured?
Women of Showpad is led by Roxy Cordt, the group’s Global Chair, assisted by North American Regional Lead, Kathryne Cole and EMEA Regional Lead, Katrien Blaton. The group is rounded out with Matt Miller, Showpad’s Chief Financial Officer, who acts as Executive Sponsor.
Empowered women, empower women
As we celebrate International Women’s Week, Showpad is proud to launch our speaker series titled “If you can see her, you can be her”. The goal of these monthly internal speaker sessions is to allow women at Showpad to share their career stories and how they achieved success in an effort to inspire fellow Showpadders. Stay tuned to the blog for monthly recaps on each speaker.
We’re excited to be hosting a week full of empowerment and inclusion and will be sharing additional updates on our LinkedIn and Twitter. If you’ve taken any inspiration from this blog post, there’s always time to get together and plan your own week of events that supports and inspires women to thrive both at work and at home.
Make the difference and continuously celebrate the smart, powerful and ambitious women at your company. For a look at all of Showpad’s values, see our culture page.
