Sellers couldn’t find content — so customers never saw the full catalog
Automatic Supply distributes thousands of landscaping and irrigation products. But the company had an identity problem: customers perceived it as an irrigation-only provider, even though less than half its product line is focused on irrigation.
The root cause was content access. Sales collateral was distributed via email, printed in bulk, and scattered across manufacturer websites. Reps frequently walked into meetings without the materials they needed and had to follow up later once they could locate the right information.
“I found out that the sales team was struggling with identifying the most up-to-date material and often were unsure of where to look for specific information,” says Amy Lintern from Automatic Supply’s marketing team.
The business impact was clear: if sellers couldn’t find product content in the field, customers would never know what Automatic Supply actually offered.

Vice President of Turf and Landscape Sales Michael White needed to drive revenue from a broader product mix. After initially evaluating another tool, he discovered Showpad — which offered cross-device access, easy email sharing, and the analytics capabilities the team required.
During a short rollout period, Lintern organized all of Automatic Supply’s content and enabled every rep to access relevant information from any location and on any device.
Analytics became a key differentiator.
“Now I am able to clearly see which content pieces are performing better and which are more useful than others,” says Lintern. “This allows me to eliminate the content that isn’t used and to focus on providing collateral that is the most impactful.”
Monthly promotional materials — previously printed and mailed — are now delivered digitally and on time, giving sellers current promotions to use in customer conversations.
